We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager Group Taxation to join our finance team in Pakistan. The ideal candidate will have a track record as a significant individual contributor as well as a strong team player comfortable working as a leader, supporting a team, and working closely with the TAx Manager to drive strategic initiatives forward across the region.
Responsibilities : Taxation
Take ownership of monthly, quarterly, bi-annualy and annual tax reporting for Group Entities..
Prepare corporate tax returns and statements for audits, as well as transfer pricing documentation for Group entities
Assist Tax Manager in Analysing the financial statements and identifying the areas for tax efficiency and profitability.
Guide tax implications on international payments and relieves available in the double taxation treaties for such payments.
Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
Handle any tax issues that may arise, and liaise with the relevant tax authorities when required.
Prepare current and deferred tax provision of group entities and also post accounting entries pertaining to the taxation outflow before monthly closing.
Align with tax consultants on notices.
Give tax awareness sessions or conduct workshops with internal teams.
Assist Tax Manager in ad-hoc tax-driven business initiatives and shaping tax department in digitalisation.
Plan for and develop the overall return calendar and coordinate timing and inputs with tax team.
Manage and mentor members of tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement.
CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification in Finance.
5 to 7 years in corporate tax accounting and reporting roles, with prior experience of more than 3 years in the Big 4 accounting firms.
Possess strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations in Pakistan.
Possess strong knowledge of International Taxation and Transfer Pricing.
Experience in fast-paced, high-growth startup / technology environments will be an advantage.
Possess strong knowledge of retail tax and issues related retailers.
Adaptable and collaborative, able to work with diverse groups of people at all levels in multiple countries.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with fluency in English.
