Job Purpose

  • Sales Trainee Officer must achieve line-wise annual volume targets as agreed with SMPS for specific area / territory. This position also manages all activities of sales management like discounts, debtors;
  • project customers account statements, conversion of business from the competition, the addition of new projects, and overall solution of market issues under the supervision of PS&SM.

    The position holder may also manage the workforce like SPs under the given circumstances.

    Key Accountabilities

  • Handling of B2B customers on a regular basis
  • Sales & Collection of project customers with no overdue vs assigned credit days.
  • Exceed customer expectations by providing efficient customer services & ensuring no complaints of orders delivery, in-time response, query for discounts, etc.
  • Liaise with the specifications executive to ensure a team work on all the targeted Govt / Private / commercial projects.
  • Proactively provide paint estimations, cost estimations, discounts, quotations by considering the competitors' activities and operations.
  • To build relationships with all the associations of builders, contractors, or architects for perennial sites stream.
  • Develop himself at the technical grounds to handle all the complaints raised by the end users timely and efficiently.
  • Remain proactive to sort the information about the competition and suggest necessary changes or improvements to boost the sales patterns.
  • The job holder reports to SMPS like other STMs / TMs / SOs & Projects Sales Executive etc.
  • The decorative paint market is intensely competitive and directly related to the level of construction activity. There are five regular major competitors and many more irregular mushroom companies which give tough competition in the market.
  • They also indulge in unethical practices which put ANPL brands in a disadvantageous position.

  • The job holder is assigned a certain area of operation after mutual discussion and agreement with the PSSM. He promotes sales by exploring new project sites, meeting with the key stakeholders, project leaders, and other decision-makers (if any) to ensure that the paint is applied to the newly constructed as well as re-paint projects like Hotels, residential projects, factories, and miscellaneous industries, etc.
  • In order to do his job effectively, the job holder maintains close liaison with building promoters, Engineers, Painting Contractors, and shrewd businessmen.
  • Therefore, his skills of persuasion, human relations, and social interaction are fully displayed. Concentrated efforts have to be made in organizing architect / builders' events.

  • Due to the intensely competitive nature of the paints business product formulations and specifications by manufacturers change continuously, squeezing profit margin in the construction industry forces architects & engineers to use new material for painting.
  • Job Holder therefore continuously updates his technical knowledge about products, processes by studying technical literature of the competition products and his own Product module, Technical Training module, paint estimation practice, and ensuring pro-active behavior to face the customer’s complaints.

  • Job Holder continuously monitors competitors' strategies regarding prices, discounts distribution methods, promotional schemes, publicity campaigns, and channels his recommendations to counteract through the concerned Manager.
  • The incumbent is fully held responsible to handle all sorts of complaints raised by the customers of his area and maintain a strong & stringent follow-up with the R&D / Customer Contact Center and the complainant.
  • He must ensure that the complaint is resolved within the agreed Total Turn Around Time.

  • Ensure compliance to corporate governance and values, and HSE as per company policy.
  • Experience

  • Bachelors degree from reputable institute
  • Willingness to travel to various locations, even on short notice
  • Responsible, hard working, with strong analytical skills
  • Familiar with MS Office advance
