TITLE : Senior Manager Business Development & Specialties

REPORTS TO : Director Foods Business

LOCATION : Lahore, Pakistan

Ingredion (Rafhan Maize) is hiring Senior Manager Business Development & Specialties who is responsible for delivering new products, application and business development within foods business with the objective of creating value for the customers and the business through innovation and specialties growth.

Th incumbent will be expected to lead through purpose and have a strong passion, drive and result orientation to deliver short and long term objectives.

As Senior Manager Business Development & Specialties, your responsibilities will include :

Leading Strategic Road Map for Specialties Growth

  • Planning and developing strategic road map for new business development and Specialties growth to progress transformation from core / non-differentiated portfolio to differentiated and value-added specialties
  • Driving business strategy to lead the development, evaluation and implementation of business initiatives to fuel top line growth and increase bottom line profitability through specialties growth and new business development
  • Creating value by driving specialties and innovation promise agenda for the business and delivering short as well as long term specialties growth, resulting in the improvement of the share of specialties in the overall portfolio mix
  • Reviewing market trends and developing competitive data to formulate strategies and plans that deliver desired objectives
  • Product & Application Development

  • Identifying new product and application development opportunities to meet market and customer demands and trends for innovative ingredients and solutions in foods
  • Leveraging Ingredion’s regional and global portfolio and knowledge base to build and grow specialties in Pakistan
  • Driving solutions concept and creating value within and around the complete recipe and ingredient interfaces. Establishing systematic approach & solution development Leveraging current and new products
  • Keeping himself / herself and the team up-to-date with key technologies and developments in the relevant industries to ensure the team is equipped with best of knowledge and has access to relevant external expertise, technical institutes, and facilities
  • New Business Development with Go To Market Execution

  • Leading the segment marketing and technical services to drive Go-To-Market execution for business development
  • Achievement of specialties sales objectives while ensuring and supervising needed technical and customer service support for the business
  • Creating alignment between customer needs, brand values and product offerings
  • Creating and developing Projects with customers to maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities
  • Owning complete project planning to execution of each project and mobilising resources accordingly
  • Handling daily planning and work execution to complete projects and assignments in a timely manner
  • Networking & Collaboration

  • Understanding and using the internal matrix, locally and globally within Ingredion, to get the best support for projects and customers while developing new ideas, concepts and products together with the team
  • Developing strong contacts and prioritize resources and activities within the organization, network with customers, external collaborative partners and building strong relationships and networking within the industry stakeholders.
  • Coordinating and leading cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of projects and product launches
  • Collaborating directly with customers via phone, face-to-face meetings, presentation, and at trade shows to develop new product introductions
  • Supporting the development and management of strategic relationships with key customers
  • Maintaining a strong liaison with food industry stakeholders at large including but not limited to industry experts, regulatory bodies, academia and research groups etc.

  • Structuring the team and ensuring talent is best deployed in high growth target areas
  • Providing inspirational leadership and maintaining team motivation
  • Driving strong business performance and effectively defines individual accountability, rewards performance and supporting employee development and growth
  • Creating leadership communication that ensures goal alignment, understanding and commitment to delivering business objectives
  • Proactively identifying and addressing opportunities to improve team and individual performance
  • Identifying high potential talent within the function, driving disciplined development and coaching of the talent and execute programs to retain them
  • This position is well-suited for you if you have :

  • A proven track record to develop strategic plans that are turned into operational reality is a must have.
  • Demonstrated commercial ability and track record of successfully navigating in challenging business conditions with progressive and result oriented mindset
  • Strong negotiation skills to engage with different types of customer, managing dialogues and arriving at a win-win situation
  • High level of integrity, honesty and dependability with strong sense of urgency
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; ability to look out of box for understanding of situations and creating competitive edge solutions
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and experience of effectively leading change management initiatives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to direct the work of others and inspire by example; and a demonstrated ability to influence and develop teams, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Fluency in English with strong computer and presentation skills
  • Qualified candidates will have :

  • MBA from reputable institution; earlier qualification in food science or chemical is a plus
  • Proven marketing or business development experience within food production, FMCG or B2B sectors
  • Solid experience of leading functional / cross functional teams within a large national or multinational organization
  • Sound commercial acumen and previous experience of being involved in development and launch of products within food space
