We are seeking a highly motivated Manager Governance, Risk and Compliance to join our growing team in Pakistan as we expand into the fintech and payment services space.

He / she is confident in his / her skills, has a great attitude, works hard and wants to join an overachieving team. He / she will establish the second line of defense and assist the company with its identification and mitigation of risk through implementation of internal control and ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations in all aspects and levels of business.

Responsibilities :

  • Design and Implement the risk management program defined by the Group within the organisation including identifying, analysing, evaluating, mitigating and monitoring of risks for the local fintech payment services business
  • Ensure effective control measures and monitoring plans are implemented for technology, operational and compliance risks collaborating with the business control owners and regulatory compliance function.
  • Produce periodic risk and control reporting for different levels of the Group utilising techniques that are tailored to suit the audience and maintain sound documentation in the SAP GRC portal
  • Implement the Risk Management and Control Guidelines and other Policies (including technology risk management and business continuity) defined by the Group and tailor these standards to the local business & regulatory environment to embed into the organisation;
  • Support and drive Projects and Initiatives including payment licensing applications in respect of Risk Management (including Technology Risk and Business Continuity) and guide the business to establish the necessary framework and requirements
  • Manage, coach, support local control, risk and process owners. Promote integrity and strong risk culture and awareness within the local organization
  • Identify potential local areas of risk, compliance and control weaknesses; develop / implement corrective action plans to resolve problematic issues, and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future;
  • Perform periodic assessment of the established risk management and control measures; Assist and monitor the development and implementation of control improvements
  • Monitor changes in local business processes, information systems, management and operations, and coordinate with operations to ensure mitigation of control risks;
  • Coordinate with internal and external assurance providers for evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls and ensure remediation of identified weaknesses at local level;
  • Requirements :

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in any discipline
  • A minimum of 5+ years related operational risk experience in the financial, technology or payment services industry with a preferred focus on the development or implementation of risk management programs
  • Previous experience in the Big 4 would be an advantage
  • Conceptual skills including qualitative and quantitative methods for risk management and experience with risk management and internal control frameworks (e.g. COSO, ISO, COBIT)
  • Process-oriented and problem-solving attitude as well as strong organizational skills and hands-on mentality
  • Knowledge of various functional areas, including Payments, IT, Consumer Operations and Technology, and Business Continuity
  • Strong and effective communication, presentation, project management and social skills
  • Ability to function effectively in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative while cooperatively working with other internal departments, external service providers and a global team.
