This Critical and exciting position Procurement Position involves complete ownership of the Terminal Tier 2 Category for West and Central Asia, which includes critical more than 25 Ports and Gateway + Transhipment Terminal Hubs and an entire portfolio of Spend Value of over USD 250 Million, annually.

We do this by Ensuring that every dollar spent is spent professionally, and this is achieved by reducing operating expenses and driving a saving mindset by applying best -in-class procurement capabilities and tools across the massive Terminal Procurement Portfolio, all the while keeping our products and the ultimate customer in mind.

The position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a complex network of stakeholders, including Operations execution, Commercial teams and Procurement support teams thus operating in an entrepreneurial environment, with the empowerment to make decisions that benefit the overall Network and cost & service delivery targets.

You will also be practicing indirect leadership on a daily basis with Sourcing support teams, that will be working as dedicated resources initiatives and projects.

You will also be a part of a larger Terminal & Marine services Procurement team , where you will own the Terminal Contracts and bring in procurement insights and cost impact to the overall goals for the Terminal Category in West and Central Asia, while also being part of a Global Marine Procurement Community.

Simultaneously, you will continue to gain and hone strong negotiation skills, through periodic negotiations, tender exercises and contingency management with the vendor universe.

Key responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the Terminal Procurement for Tier 2 Category consisting of an annual spend of +USD 250 Million
  • Responsible for preparation of annual procurement plan for Terminal Category in an ever-changing external environment
  • Develop overall category strategy from both geographical and supplier segmentation aspects
  • Develop negotiation strategies and execute negotiations across the terminal category within the region
  • Negotiate and actively manage all contract deliverables in conjunction with the objectives of the regional and the global stakeholders
  • Encompass not only commercial aspects, but also performance standards & parameters : KPI, SLA, SOP, scorecards in collaboration with Marine execution teams and Commercial stakeholders
  • Act as a point of escalation relating to dispute and issue resolution
  • Support implementation of digital solutions in managing the portfolio
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams and be part of various ongoing smart execution initiatives
  • Manage and review contract performance regularly and ensure targets are on track through a serious of Business Review Meetings
  • Drive continuous improvement by creating best practices locally but also bringing in outside in view from other regions and the Global Community
  • Contribute to development of procurement frameworks and processes
  • We are looking for

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in operations, procurement or terminal operations management or related supply chain management positions
  • Experience in operations and procurement is an advantage when applying and combined with awareness of cost drivers will be highly valued in the selection process
  • Should have in-depth knowledge and experience within procurement and be used to handle most situations independently, receives minimal guidance, but will seek guidance on more complex issues
  • University qualification preferred

  • Strong Stakeholder management skills, upwards, downwards & laterally
  • Strong Analytical abilities and comfort with analytics and numbers
  • Strong understanding of Shipping Line business drivers
  • Strong networking skills and interpersonal skills through which he or she will engage a broad range of colleagues and stakeholders in LOC and Center
  • Enthusiastic and positive individuals with demonstrable experience in leading large and complex procurement and sourcing organizations
  • You demonstrate strong negotiation skills together with an outgoing and convincing personality; an inspiring person who can engage and support teams & colleagues to deliver while collaborating with diverse stakeholders
