ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

To provide timely proactive financial evaluation, information and recommendations that enables Marketing teams and management to develop and execute effective plans and take informed decisions.

To help build strong financial and commercial awareness across the whole marketing function including ensuring a robust internal control environment.

Key success factors include :

  • Effective working relations with all key stakeholders
  • Establish finance as a trusted business partner
  • Consistent and accurate Finance support to the business
  • Monthly production of reliable reporting and budget tracking analyses for internal and external purposes
  • Implementation of key financial controls
  • Project planning and management
  • Demonstrates the value-adding of Marketing Finance throughout the SOP process as well as the involvement in strategic projects
  • Flexibility to deal with ad hoc requirements
  • Reports to : Head of Marketing Finance

    Reporting Level : Mid Level Management

    Geographic Scope : Global

    WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Assist the Finance Director, Head of Commercial Finance and Marketing Leadership Team in formulating suitable Marketing Strategies (, RGM, Pricing, Trading Terms, Marketing Investment), appropriately balancing volume / share growth with profitable delivery
  • Business partnering with Marketing Leadership Team for financial controls, profit delivery, budgeting, marketing plan, operating expense, capex, etc.)
  • Ownership of month-end closing (including sales rebate reconciliation) and analyse the general ledgers for management review
  • Lead in the development and implementation of practical procedures to ensure that a high level of internal control and governance exists
  • Lead the Revenue Growth Management (RGM) & pricing strategy for the market
  • Optimisation of Trade Margins, working closely with Trade Marketing Team
  • Evaluate the effectiveness / efficiency of Marketing programs & touchpoints through financial analysis to support better decision-making and resource allocation
  • Perform robust financial evaluations and business cases (including scenario analysis) and post-implementation reviews
  • Analyse and make recommendations on product and brand profitability
  • Evaluation of investments in key Marketing initiatives / Trade activities (promotions, etc.)
  • Review and make recommendations based on competitors’ marketing activities, financials, and market share
  • Active participation in monthly SOP process ensuring ownership and alignment of financial metrics
  • Increase level of financial / commercial awareness within the Marketing area, educating the organisation on commercial and financial skills
  • Build effective working relationships within multiple key stakeholders across the wider business
  • Actively contribute in meetings, activities and projects with other members of the Marketing team, for planning and review of key initiatives to achieve the Marketing strategy
  • Drive ad hoc projects
  • ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    Experience Required

  • ACCA / ACA qualified
  • 6-10 years relevant financial and commercial experience
  • FMCG background (preferred)
  • Strong stakeholder management experience, regional experience (preferred)
