profit entity. We currently have over $16 million in committed investments in Pakistan and an additional pipeline of investments currently in various stages of due diligence.

The office is staffed with a full-time team of professionals with prior backgrounds in social enterprise, corporate and investment banking, and business and strategy consulting.

We have a strong Advisory Board and partner community consisting of senior business leaders. The Pakistan team is supported by Acumen's global portfolio team as well as business and development professionals in Pakistan who provide investment management advice through the year.

About the role As a Portfolio Analyst, you will play a key role in the success, development and impact of Acumen’s portfolio in Pakistan.

As part of your core function, you will grow our portfolio by identifying and developing a strong pipeline of investment opportunities.

The Portfolio Analyst also provides support to core investment processes, like maintenance of the portfolio database, coordination with the finance and legal teams, and recruitment of interns and student projects.

  • Specific responsibilities include : Helping portfolio managers identify and conduct due diligence on organizations with proven or promising approaches to delivering Acumen Pakistan’s investment strategy;
  • Participating in the preparation of detailed investment documentation for Acumen’s Senior Management, the Investment Committee, and the Acumen Board of Directors;
  • At the direction of the portfolio managers, providing strategic and tactical advice and support intended to help investees achieve their business plan objectives;
  • Maintaining core portfolio processes, including the Annual Review, scheduling Investment Committee meetings, updating of data on eFront, preparing Closing Sets;
  • Generating knowledge from our global investments for sharing with key stakeholders in Pakistan to influence the broader community of stakeholders in the country;
  • Assist in achieving the goals of other core functions, including fundraising, communications and talent. Qualifications & Characteristics Bachelor's degree;
  • finance, business or related field preferred 1-2 years of principal investing experience, including financial and operational due diligence of private companies.

  • Understanding of early stage businesses and entrepreneurs is a plus. OR 1-2 years of management consulting or operational experience with a proven track record of delivering operational and management support to companies or internal units Strong financial, modeling, and business analysis skills as demonstrated by prior experience is required Solid operational skills including problem solving and project management skills, including ability to work and deliver projects independently, proactively and under pressure Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • ability to present arguments and analysis in a clear and succinct manner to Acumen management, partners and investees Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • ability to manage relationships with investees as well as external bench of partners and advisors.
