The Role

Retail Territory Manager will play a pivotal role in the strategy implementation, with the Retail organization committed to be the GM of the Territory .

The core accountabilities are as follows :

  • End to End accountability for operations and business performance of Retail fuel station for fuel and non-fuel related products.
  • Develop clear understanding of site wise customer needs and preferences and engage Network, Marketing & Operations to address critical customer needs
  • Ensure consistent delivery of Customer Commitment by managing contract compliance using Independent Audits.
  • Identify gaps to Retailer competencies and delivery of Customer Commitment; coach, support and advise Retailers with the aid of appropriate tools.
  • Ensure that the Retailer trains and develops their staff, and understands the importance of People in delivering the Customer Commitment, sharing and coaching on Shell tools and processes as appropriate
  • Leverage trainings in retail to develop the right organization structure at site level, including business wise managerial staff (Convenience Retail, Car Services)
  • Enhancing the profile of forecourt staff to actively engage Customers and bring Shell Customer Commitment to life.
  • Regularly feed insights to Learning and Operations teams for capability building programs for Retailers and their staff
  • Develop and implement site wise business plans and monitor progress through structured monthly site visits and structured quarterly business reviews.
  • Continuously develop & implement opportunity pipeline for the territory.
  • Identify opportunities for profitable Retail Network growth within the Territory in line with Growth Strategy as well as managing renewal and disposal of sites within the territory
  • Actively monitor competition in the area and develop counter strategies to maintain competitiveness.
  • Maintain relationships with key external stakeholders within the Territory (Local Administration, Explosives, Police) to develop & sustain Shell as reputable Brand in the area.
  • Develop and maintain a strong HSSE culture within geographical area
  • Deliver agreed HSSE targets for geographical area
