Job purpose

To carry out the management of all Planned Preventative Maintenance, Reactive Repairs and Minor Works based in the Manchester area.

Also undertake small installation works and the management of all hard services subcontractors.

Due to the nature of the site candidates must be aware that a high level of Security Clearance will be required prior to starting.


  • Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment and systems to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.
  • Respond to Building Management System alarms, and effect emergency repairs as needed.
  • Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems.
  • Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant.
  • Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are kept in the form of Maximo task sheets.
  • Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices
  • Ensure that engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised, and comply with contractual commitments, and site operating processes.
  • To develop a good working relationship with all members of Interserve staff and clients staff.
  • Ensure the provision of a safe & healthy working environment, and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures and working arrangements, as required.
  • Ensure a professional image of Interserve is presented to clients and visitors, and ensure excellence in customer service is delivered and promoted at all times.
  • Knowledge skills & experience

    Experience : (Essential)

  • Working to Planned Preventative Maintenance Regimes
  • Fault finding on basic electrical circuits
  • Knowledge of lone working requirements
  • Risk Assessment trained
  • Experience of general Building Management Systems
  • Installation of electrical services
  • Electrical Testing to BS7671
  • Desirable)

  • GCSE Maths & English or equivalent
  • Able to acquire and maintain sufficient knowledge of a buildings operation and services
  • Person

  • Committed to the delivery of excellent customer service
  • The ability liaise directly with client building users and action their requirements to agreed standards
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Able to make sound decisions when needed
  • Able to carry tools and components by hand up to 20kg
  • Able to ascend / descend vertical access equipment
  • Able to work at height

  • Must be flexible regarding working hours
  • May be asked to join a call out rota if needed
