Project Summary :

In May 2015, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded a five-year performance management support contract PERFORM to Management Systems International (MSI).

Under PERFORM MSI provides monitoring support, evaluations, assessments, and learning support services to USAID. These services provide evidence-

based data and information and high-quality analysis that USAID program managers use to target resources and inform project design and implementation to improve project results and achieve objectives.

Please note : Only Pakistani citizens are eligible for this position.

Position Summary :

MSI is seeking for four (4) short-term Field Researchers (two from Sindh and two from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) for the anticipated assignment covering performance monitoring of Pakistan Safer School Program (PSSP) to work in a six-

person team of local consultants.The PSSP promotes Disaster Risk Resilience (DRR) and school safety program interventions.

It consists of an integrated package of two program areas on :

  • Component A : Disaster Risk Resilience (DRR), and
  • Component B : North Waziristan (NWA) Humanitarian Response
  • Under component A, the overall objective of the project is to increase and sustain equitable access to education in across 13 districts and in 199 schools with emphasis on building their capacity on DRR in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Sindh, and Baluchistan.

    Under component B, the objective was to continue education access for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) children from NWA in KP and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) in about 1,400 schools.

    The focus is primarily on primary and basic education with an emphasis on gender equity. The component B has already ended.

    This is a part-time position and the anticipated duration of the assignment is from February 2019 through June 2019.

    Responsibilities :

  • Participate in a Team Planning Workshop (TPW) in Islamabad to understand the monitoring purpose and methodology, data collection instruments, data collection and analysis plans;
  • Assist in drafting data collection plans;
  • Responsible for conducting key informant interviews and completing verification and observation checklists;
  • Responsible for taking comprehensive and high-quality notes during interviews and transcribe and translate notes in English in accordance with the required format;
  • Amend / improve translations / transcriptions in line with feedback provided by team lead / assignment manager;
  • Data entry within two days of data collection as per the instructions of the team lead and the assignment manager;
  • Undertake other tasks as assigned by the assignment manager and the team lead for the successful completion of the study.
  • Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent;
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection;
  • Excellent MS Excel skills required;
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the country;
  • Excellent analytical and personal communication skills;
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
