  • Purpose :

    This position is accountable for the design, adoption, and implementation of Schneider Electric Pakistan’s safety, health, and environment protection, security and real estate programs .

    Assures compliance with country safety, health, and environmental regulations. Assesses and minimizes the risk of injury to people and / or liabilities arising out of accidents or environmental exposures in or associated with the work place and the communities in which SE operates.

  • In terms of Security it is to support & manage change in order to ensure people's security against malicious acts, work as a Business Partner to protect the company's material &
  • non material assets (theft, fraud, economic intelligence).

    Security - Accountabilities

    Develop, implement and continuously improve strategies for successful deployment of security on major projects and the Schneider Electric Pakistan offices

    Conduct internal and external audits, training and communication on security topics (raising awareness and level of practices).

    with a view to continuous improvement and enhancement of security performance through out Pakistan.

    Crisis Management (assistance in the implementation of local emergency response plans and deliver training whenever necessary).

    Engage with security services and identify areas of opportunity to minimize and streamline security expenditure.

    Build strong networks and relationships with business clients, key figures from neighboring industries, local and governmental agencies and foreign embassies.

    Provide security support to travel undertaken by assessing the nature of the risks, designing and deploying security plans in support of travel in a risk mitigated environment.

    Integrate with sales and project teams who are undertaking fee submittals in high risk locations to assess the nature of security provisions required in support of the project.

    Assess compliance of clients’ security plans in the event they are used to provide protection to business travelers and / or company employees deployed on a project.

    Provide regular emergency security risk and security foresight briefs to the Country leadership team and business leads on an ad-

    hoc basis as events unfold in the country.

    Oversee the investigation process for all security incidents (eg thefts and attempted thefts), including root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are completed.

    Maintain oversight of all business travelers in-country, to include travel validation and active monitoring of employees travelling in high risk travel destinations.

    Manage the emergency evacuation process for all expatriate employees and business travelers in Pakistan should events dictate.

    Local evacuation plans to be developed and implemented where necessary.

    Ensure international Travelers & Expatriates security (upstream : conduct security audits & assessments - validate travels to risky destinations / downstream and whenever necessary : put in place the relevant security setup, means & procedures).

    Ensure the performance of local site based security (guarding) providers. Including regular reviews, enforcing guard rotation and review / renewal of security services.

    Ensure that all SE entities & locations are fulfilling their responsibilities in terms of compliance to globally established security standards, requirements, policies, directives, procedures and other requirements.

    Health & Safety

    Lead the implementation of Health and Safety strategy, directives and global programs, with the assistance and support of the local leaders and following local programs, in coordination with the global and regional leaders in charge

    Deploy and maintain Health & Safety management systems following the International Standards (BS-OSHAS18001) and manage the annual management system review

    Ensure compliance with Health &Safety regulations and keep up to date with applicable local (Pakistan) and international regulations

    Complete and maintain a current Health and Safety Site Risk Assessment that captures both the frequency and potential severity of each risk identified.

    Those risks that have the highest ratings (most severe) need to have action plans defined and progress toward mitigation

    Assure that safety is integrated into new product, process or new equipment design, verify be performing a risk assessment to assure safe operations

    Develop and propose to the leader the local training plan for the year and assure that both general awareness training and job specific safety training is update for all personnel per the OSHAS18001 and Schneider standards, in the scope of the annual H&S program.

    Help defining and providing induction training for new hires, temps and contractors

    Lead all Safety, Health and Emergency response activities and teams including (safety steering committee, Emergency response team, Hazardous communication teams, etc.)

    Work with local authorities and organizations to sustain a safe and healthy work environment including local fire departments, insurance providers, safety vendors / suppliers, contractors

    In the event of an employee injury, property damage or near miss, perform an incident investigation including immediate containment actions, root cause analysis, contributing factors and action plans

    Work with employees and management team to drive continuous improvement and to assure a Safety Opportunity reporting culture is in place

    Promote and raise awareness within the site of the impact of emerging safety issues, and deploy best practices.

    Utilize H&S events to increase awareness, celebrate successes and share ongoing priorities, for instance during Global Safety Day

    Per BS-OHSAS18001 requirement set up, update and analyze regularly a dashboard of safety performance (follow, measure and analyze relevant KPIs) and propose to the local leaders any relevant change in the H&S program.

    Report safety performance to internal teams (regional and global environmental reporting).

    Facility Management

    strategy, directives and global programs (i.e. Work Place Policy, SE offer deployment in our buildings, etc.), by developing and following local programs, in coordination with the global and regional leaders in charge

  • Manage services and processes that support the site activities (sales, manufacturing, R&D, etc.) and provides the most suitable working environment for its employees, including building, grounds and infrastructure maintenance (HVAC, etc.
  • energy, waste and water management; cleaning; catering and vending; health and safety; space management; supply of commodities (e.

    g. electricity, fuel, gas) etc. Scope may also be extended to other programs and functions, such as security, cyber-security, utilities and communications infrastructure, etc.

  • Ensure that all applicable safety and environment directives, laws and regulations are followed in performing all jobs
  • Collaborate with the Real Estate teams on collocations projects, new premises projects (suitability, etc.). When required, embed on facility management projects other functions such as Energy management, Environment, Health &
  • Safety, Legal, Procurement, etc.

  • Report performance on consumption (energy, waste, water, etc.), costs and productivity, and other key indicators when required (e.
  • g. service level, space optimization)

    Real Estate :

    strategy, directives and global programs, in coordination with the global and regional leaders in charge

  • Propose real estate strategic plan to decision makers to optimize costs and deploy the group vision (including relocations, fit-
  • out, renovation projects, etc.)

  • Coordinate and bring expertise in real estate transactions (lease, buy, early termination, etc.), involving other required functions
  • Ensure that contracts and key documents are archived and shared with appropriate teams
  • Report performance on real estate footprint for the organizational scope covered
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and keep up to date with local (Pakistan) and international regulations
  • Use Schneider Electric offers in SE premises whenever and wherever possible
  • Qualifications

    Bachelor degree a minimum required, Engineering Degree desirable.

    10-15 Years of experience with the Security companies or military establishment, well rounded exposure to reputable local companies or manufacturing setups .

    Professional HSE safety Management exposure required.

    Professional accreditation desirable, certification or membership from the Society of Safety Engineers : ASP, CSP, CHST and OHST.

    Military or Arm-forces background an added advantage, with exposure to Safety protocols.

    Proficient in English Language and writing.

    Excellent reporting and presentation skills.
