About Position :

Reporting to a Divisional Finance Manager, primary responsibility will be ownership of the Management Accounting, Financial Reporting and controls of a selection of Vesta Software Group companies.

This will include analysing and communicating results, assisting in statutory and tax accounting, and preparing and supporting the Group's Quarterly Strategic Review process (forecasting / Budgeting).

In addition, the successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Finance to drive the Vesta Software Group Portfolio forward, whilst being offered opportunities to develop and grow within the Jonas / Vesta organisation.

Job Responsibilities

This is a multi-faceted role where the post holder will be expected (but not limited) to :

  • Produce timely and reliable monthly management accounts to tight deadlines.
  • Identify and investigate variances against benchmarks, provide analysis of differences, and explore potential problems with non-financial department heads.
  • Take the lead on various projects, including new international accounting policies, intercompany trading, process and system improvements.
  • Update Excel-based reconciliation / support packs for all Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns, European Sales Listings and Corporation tax packs.
  • Support and challenge the business heads with the Group's Quarterly Strategic Review process (forecasting).
  • Deliver information packs to the auditors and meet the needs of the statutory audit process.
  • Prepare periodic financial statements and supporting schedules, tax computations and cash flow forecasts.
  • Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial managers, advise on the business impact and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Involvement in on-going process development and transformation projects to improve business efficiency and profitability.
  • Act as a Business Partner within all aspects of the role.
  • Contribute to the success of the overall corporate strategy.
  • Capture data and analysis to provide support to business decision making.
  • Support new company integrations and be involved in acquisition purchase price accounting.
  • Job Qualifications

  • CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualified (will consider part qualified depending on experience).
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial analysis skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong excel skills are a must as well as experience of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience of Microsoft Great Plains software would be an advantage, as would experience in statutory accounts production.
  • Experience of working in an international business is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
  • Experience in software or high-tech industry would be an asset.
