Job Description

Key Accountabilities includes but not limited to following.

  • Drive deployment and development HSE mandate for all applicable GEHSMS standards of Non-manufacturing facilities including Agronomy cold storages & regional offices, PI Head Office and Sales Offices to ensure the environmental, health and safety of entities, personnel, visitors and contractors are complying with PepsiCo standard and law required.
  • Co-ordinate the efforts of and coach safety representative & committee of Non-manufacturing HSE (including Agronomy, HO and Sales Offices), through the development of critical documentation, Risk assessments, Safe work practices and procedure.
  • Develop and implement safety GEMBA line walk, HSE inspections, and audits to identify at all non-manufacturing facilities (including Agronomy, HO and Sales Offices) for work hazards and exposures.
  • Determine trends and action plans and corrective actions.

  • Establish, implement and sustain HSE mandate for Agro seasonal activities including Machinery Safety requirements and MOC to meet safe mechanization agenda.
  • Roll out, establish and lead execution of training matrix of key HSE topics for Non-manufacturing team (including Agronomy, HO and Sales Offices) and all dependent contractors at storage, field and sales facilities including distributors, direct contractors and merchandizers.
  • Establish and implement fire risk mitigation plan, fire prevention and control tools including fire extinguisher, and emergency response network at all Non-manufacturing facilities including storages, field and sales facilities.
  • Establish and implement Ammonia risk mitigation plan, ammonia detection systems, deployment of handling and rescue PPE matrix for Agro storage facilities.
  • Re-establish and strengthen ERT at HO, Sales facilities.

  • Conduct route and traffic risk assessments and implement Defensive driving / motor cycle and automobile safety program for all non-manufacturing facilities, company owned and operated vehicles and drivers and agro 3P logistics.
  • Train team in incidence investigation tools and techniques and lead investigation of high potential Near Miss reports, Incidences or Injuries and vehicular accidents related with non-manufacturing set up.
  • Review and assist in the development of new facilities and processes to ensure optimum HSE practices at all Non-manufacturing facilities are integrated as part of the establishment and change.
  • Participation in budget preparation and tracking, establishing and monitoring progress toward company HSE goals for all non-manufacturing facilities.
  • Managing environmental processes within non-manufacturing facilities to assure proper waste management and minimization practices in accordance with regulatory requirements & company standards.
  • Work closely with all Non-Manufacturing leadership to ensure continual improvement and compliance in HSE activities.
  • Establish high level of HSE visibility through sign and signage development at all non-manufacturing facilities (including Agronomy, HO, Sales Offices, Distributors)
  • Liaison with Company’s Medical Practitioner for injury management, Employee health review, recovery & return to work program and procedures
  • Establish Fleet Management Program for all non-manufacturing, company owned, seasonal operated contracted vehicles including motor cycles and field vehicles.
  • This includes Vehicle Authorization, repair and maintenance record analysis, insurance claim analysis for establishing effective vehicular preventive maintenance regimes.

  • Help create a culture of injury-free attitudes within the non-manufacturing facilities by demonstrating honest, genuine care and passion for HSE.
  • Qualifications / Requirements

  • Engineering degree (Preferably Mechanical / Chemical / Electrical) or master’s in environmental sciences
  • Sound knowledge of HSE policies and procedures & be sensitive to the National environment and health & safety laws and legal issues.
  • NEBOSH IGC (Mandatory)
  • Lead Auditor OHSAS 18001 / ISO 14001
  • Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) / Certified Safety professional (CSP)
  • Professional Safety Body Membership (IOSH or ASSE) would be a plus.
  • Relevant qualifications in OH&S
  • Machinery Safety Standards / Functional Safety (Working Knowledge)
  • Experience in leading Safety Strategies
  • Experience in developing Safety Leadership, Systems and Culture
  • People management & leadership
  • Influencing others to achieve results
  • 4-5 years’ experience of HSE functions
  • Working knowledge of Acts, Regulations and Codes of practice in relation to occupational health & safety, as well as workers’ compensation, rehabilitation and employment
  • OHSA’s Safety Standards Solid Knowledge of Hazard Identification & Risk Management Techniques, Work at height, Confined Space, Excavation Safety, Hot Work Management, Lockout / tag out
  • Strategic planning

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
