Transportation Carrier Integration Team (CIT) is looking for passionate and result oriented manager to lead a two pizza team of software programmer analysts.

Our Transportation Technology division builds the complex software solutions that work across our shippers and carriers to optimize both time & cost of getting the packages delivered.
We also integrate with external service provider systems to extend our transportation network and operations.
What will you do?
As a leader, you will implement the charter and vision for your team. You will prioritize your team’s projects and deliver the goals while measuring appropriate metrics to monitor team performance.
As a manager, you will identify and drive process improvements while working with multiple teams with-in and outside your organization.
You will interface with business, operations and tech teams within and outside transportation organization. You will influence the technical vision and automation roadmap for your team.
You will own hiring, performance management, goal setting and mentoring for your team.
To accomplish this, you are expected to be proficient in programming, scripting and querying skills as well as basic object oriented analysis and design.
You are considered knowledgeable in the key areas by your team and are able to provide assistance and leadership to your team.
You are expected to analyze scope work requests, create estimates and effectively work with stakeholders on prioritization decisions as well as progress updates.
You will own the planning of your team’s work and constantly improve your team’s practices.
A successful candidate will be a fast learner with an established background in leading teams, strong technical ability, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a dynamic fast paced environment.
About the team
IRIS is a new Tier 1 service that will act as a Gateway for communication between Amazon's Transportation systems and 3P carriers.
Presently Amazon provides standard communication using just AS2, SFTP protocols, which increases the tech investments as well the overall onboarding time of a carrier onto Amazon's network.
We are building a system that provides extended means of communication using APIs, S3 / SNS, AS4, Streams and further enhancing to provide Azure / GCP based direct integration capabilities.
Along with these, we will also provide data transformation capabilities using our inhouse developed transportation language.
We will also enable Self serving these needs through an UI to onboard carriers, provide end to end testing capabilities, provide prognostic capabilities to identify and mitigate communication issues.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, your key responsibilities include :
Work with Internal & External Stakeholders to understand the business processes and workflow.
Develop functional specifications / requirements documents
Dealing with ambiguity to discover the true requirements underlying new feature requests; recommend alternative technical approaches and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines.
Work with both the Internal Software and Operations teams to launch projects and provide ongoing technical support as appropriate.
Track / drive the technical aspects with the other Program Managers.
be the primary conduit for gathering requirements for enhancements; develop demos, sample and technical collateral as required.
Work as the product owner and define roadmap in association with the stakeholders
Drive simplification and efficiencies in engineering and / or complex architectures to unblock innovation and / or speed of delivery within program area
Manage multiple projects in program area or large challenging projects to meet business and / or organization goals
Facilitate technical trade-offs between short term team needs and long term business needs
