    Organizational Setting

    The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors, and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.

    Reporting Lines

    Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative in Pakistan, the direct supervision of the Assistant FAO Representative (Programme) and in close coordination with Statistician and National Focal Point for Food Security and Nutrition Information System, the Information Management Assistant will undertake the following duties :

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    Collect and enter secondary data related to food security, nutrition, prices, economy, poverty, food prices, agriculture statistics etc into the Food Security and Nutrition Information System (FSNIS) web base

    Support in management of the FSNIS website, including posting updates and providing support for stakeholders in using the website

    Prepare information management products (info graphs, dashboards, maps etc)

    Support in data analysis for FSNIS analytical products

    Support in organizing capacity building trainings related to FSNIS

    Support in organizing different activities (e.g. Meetings, Training / Workshops / Seminars) related to FSNIS

    Prepare different documents (e.g. Correspondence, Agendas, Minutes, and Event Programs etc.) for activities related to FSNIS

  • Perform any other tasks related to FSNIS
  • CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING Minimum Requirements

  • Post-graduate or equivalent qualifications in the field of Information Management / technology, Statistics or related field
  • Up to 3 years working experience on information management / technology with UN and / or international / national organization
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • National of Pakistan

  • Technical / Functional Skills

  • Good interpersonal skills with experience in networking with partners at all levels (ministry, donors, private sector, NGOs etc);
  • Computer skills in Office Applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Access and proficiency with databases
  • Knowledge of web-based information system and reporting system
  • Ability to present information in understandable tables, charts and graphs by using Adobe Premier, Adobe Photoshop or any other supported software
  • Ability as well as experience to engage professionally with a wide range of stakeholders and people of different national and cultural backgrounds and have strong communication skills and strong spirit of teamwork.

  • Willing to undertake visits as required
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
