Teradata GDC is looking to add resources to the Advanced Analytics / Data Science team. Interested candidates should have good analytical skills, business understanding, above average communication skills and an understanding backed by experience of DWH concepts.
The role will focus on delivering high-quality professional services to Teradata’s global customers. Typical responsibilities include
Engage with Teradata account teams and prospective customers to analyze and understand customer requirements.
Understand customer business use cases and translate them to analytical data applications and models with a vision on how to implement a solution.
Clearly communicate the business and technical benefits of the analytic solutions to both business and technical audiences.
Work on POC and Pilot Projects to showcase the benefits of Advanced Analytics and Big Data Technologies to customers.
Use Analytical / Statistical tools; like SAS, TDWM, KXEN, SPSS, R etc., to deliver the innovative analytic solutions to our customers.
Leverage knowledge in analytics, machine learning and statistical analysis to help customers explore methods to analyze data to make better business decisions.
Work in close coordination with Advanced Analytics teams in other GDC centers.
Work with other GDC and Teradata teams to produce packaged solutions, AaaS offerings, in addition to supporting Analytics projects and PoCs / PoVs.
Achieve defined project goals within customer deadlines; proactively communicate status and escalate issues as needed.
Minimum of 5 to 8 years’ experience in some or all of the following : data analysis, data modeling, data integration, business intelligence, sales / pre-sales.
Strong expertise in data analysis and data mining is highly desirable.
Mandatory Strong expertise in writing SQL.
Strong experience in Advanced Analytics techniques, such as statistical modeling, machine learning, and natural language processing will be a big plus.
Experience leading 3rd party and open source analytic technologies (e.g. Teradata, SAS, Hadoop, Spark) is desirable.
Experience in open source languages such as R and Python (using scikit-learn, statsmodels, NumPy and SciPy libraries) is desirable.
Experience in using other analytical tools like SPSS, MATLAB, or STATA will be a plus. Experience in Spark MLlib or Mahout a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must demonstrate the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical people.
Eager to learn; develop expertise in areas outside of core comfort zone.
Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training.
Must be passionate, self-motivated, results driven, and able to work with minimum supervision.
