Constellation Software Inc. is seeking a qualified Financial Accountant reporting directly to the Vice President Finance for head office.
The successful candidate will be able to accurately maintain a general ledger, have a strong understanding of the intricacies of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other financial transactions within an organization.
The Senior Accountant will have excellent communication, business, and analytical skills. This individual is efficient, resourceful, and has the ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality.
The Financial Accountant's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with month-end close processes, and assisting with the preparation and generation of monthly financial analysis reports.
The Financial Accountant will assist the Finance Manager as needed and respond to information requests by management.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process within GP.
Record daily bank transactions.
Assist with monthly close procedures including preparing and posting adjusting journal entries
Bank and account reconciliation preparation and adjustments, analytical review and variance analysis
Prepare monthly account reconciliations
Research and resolve account discrepancies
Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on any variances
Assist with special projects as required
Maintain prepaid expenses
Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
Process and maintain documentation for accounts receivable and accounts payable
Meet processing and reporting deadlines
Assist the Vice President Finance as necessary.
Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
Assist with sales tax compliance and other tax requirements.
Prepare intercompany journals (management fees, recharges etc.)
Experience / Skills Required :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent
3-5 years of accounting experience
Effective oral, written and business communication skills
Professional interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and / or in a team
Proficient in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines
Ability to multi-task and work in a rapidly changing environment
Maintain a continuous improvement mindset and proactively identify, review, and implement process improvements.
