JOB Purpose :
As a Long Distance (LD) Transport Engineer you will be responsible to define, engineer, and resolve network capacity requirements for long distance and OTN mesh network.
You will be utilizing high capacity next generation light wave and wave division multiplexing technologies to meet network services capacity, vulnerability, diversity and growth requirements supporting LD transport capacity demands for both internal and external capacity drivers.
Perform equipment engineering for network augments. This includes developing the specifications required for installation, turn-up, inventory, and configure the equipment, obtaining appropriate management approvals , creating applicable diagrams / drawings, and ensuring vendor delivery.
Routine Actions :
Strong technical knowledge of DWDM based optical transmission systems design (Networks, Devices, and Technology), component qualifications, system simulation and link budget analysis
Key interface with direct customer, NOC, field technicians, technical support, delivery teams.
Provisioning / Assurance / Migration / Config / Fault Management / 2nd level core troubleshooting experience on transmission network, equipment & customer circuits / services and management systems : Huawei, ECI,
Excellent Knowledge base on MSP (MMSP, NSN), and legacy SDH, DWDM, ASON Prefer candidate having Huawei Equipment experience.
A good understanding and proven provisioning / troubleshooting experience in some of the following : SDH, PDH, MSP, MMSP, ATM, Frame Relay, PCM, Carrier Ethernet, WDM, DWDM, TDM, ADM, DCS, DXC, ASON
Able to demonstrate a high level of capability to provisioning & resolve incidents and enquiries, from a second level perspective, for all product groups.
Access network equipment to verify assignments and perform basic provisioning steps as required
Writing of Method of Procedures (MOP) for technical activities
Planning, designing, and implementing the latest transport technologies in support of our 5G network rollout, in addition to, supporting the existing 4G LTE infrastructure.
Excellent communication skills, technical knowledge and services requirement identifications, in-depth knowledge of physical and logical network designs, teamwork, and organizational skills
Developing and maintaining circuit delivery schedules for each project and actively managing and driving the vendors to meet our deliverables.
Superior technical competence in trouble-shooting real-time embedded software, optical and digital hardware, and network management systems
Running various utilization reports to evaluate capacity, and issue design changes as needed to maintain optimal performance of the fronthaul, backhaul, and microwave networks.
Working with Network planning on strategic initiatives to develop future technology solutions that support our infrastructure.
Bachelor Degree and three years diploma in ECE / Computer Science (IT) or related fields.
4 to 10 years or more experiences in same field.
Good knowledge basics of SDH and DWDM
Excellent Troubleshooting skills.
