The Mission : Our Contracts Manager is responsible for contract preparation, its risk evaluation, and management of contract claim during project execution.
Position holder will ensure timely and efficient resolution starting with analysis and evaluation until contract closure and upon fulfillment of all contractual obligations.
What are the responsibilities for the role? Contracts Manager shall be responsible for preparing comprehensive claims based on the rights available to Siemens under the contract, law and the industrial norms.
Contracts Manager shall prepare claims which relate to the cost escalation and the extension e . Ensure and highlight from time to time the potential risks and give suggestions on mitigating risks in the contracts.
During the project execution, the Contracts Manager shall flag issues that might result in delay or claim and advise the project managers of any risks that may affect the overall timely completion of the project or significant cost escalation.
Identify and report potential problem areas, particularly those that are likely to give rise to in-coming claims from the customer.
Shall provide solution on contractual issue as they arise and provide appropriate solutions. Together with the PM, proactively setting up a contract and claim management process in the project Management of claims to / from Clients, Contractors, Suppliers, Consortium Partners Determination as to whether a change shall be considered as a Variation Order (VO) Preparing the financial aspect of the Variation Negotiation.
Gathering the necessary documentation for a claim Extension of Time or for the initial technical proposal Liaise with project schedulers in view of gathering the appropriate argumentation for an Extension of Time claim Provide clear contractual analysis and advice to project team on matters concerning contractual obligations, contract risk, and claim management in collaboration with legal department.
Monitor claim-relevant events within project execution Provide support to the Project Managers and Financial Project Manager for contractual issues Ensure completeness and validity of contractual requirements.
What do I need to qualify? Academic Qualification (Legal, Technical or Business Management) From reputable University or college Minimum 5 years contracting and subcontracting experience (Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil contracts) Strong understanding of the risks of the contract(s) and the potential legal and financial consequences associated therewith.
Experience in Project Execution including site activities Degree in Engineering / Finance and related areas Excellent knowledge of Commercial, Civil and Public Procurement Law (legal, environment, taxation, etc) Excellent knowledge of general contractual standards Experience of risk appraisal and claims management for projects Experience working on major complex projects Analytical skills · Use of independent judgment and creativity in resolution of contract / claim issues What else do you need to know?
