This is an exciting opportunity where, as a the Legal Compliance Counsel, you participate effectively as member of the local management team and the global legal compliance department.
You will conduct the Business Conduct standards and the applicable laws and identify and manage internal and external legal resources as required to provide high quality legal services at a reasonable cost.
You will also be a Counsel for internal clients practically and strategically on legal and compliance issues relating to the businesses in question.

A Day in the Life
Provide commercially-oriented operational support and strategic guidance to Medtronics operations in Pakistan which include eeing the primary support for all legal and compliance matters for Pakistan, including providing legal advice on strategic projects and operational matters and being responsible for ensuring compliance with the internal and external regulations and procedures including the Medtronic Code of Conduct, the Business Conduct standards and the applicable laws.
Advise on all operational matters and strategic projects, including providing advice on commercial law, competition law, employment law, IP, public procurement law and product liability, with a high degree of independence.
Support implementation and supervision of the Distributor Policies, including review and approval of distributors, negotiation of distributor agreements, advising on renewals and terminations.
Manage disputes and litigations if necessary under involvement of outside counsel.
Conduct trainings for employees and distributors on legal matters.
advising on compliance matters, such as drafting, review and negotiation of clinical study, research, training, sponsor / donation, consultancy and other non-sales contracts and other arrangements with hospitals and health care professionals and approving compliance matters.
Strong academic credentials from a recognized law school and licensed lawyer in Pakistan.
Minimum 5 years post internship legal practice in a top law firm and / or an international company.
Multi-national / multi-cultural company experience.
Fluency in business / legal English, both in written and oral.
Excellent legal skills and commercial acumen with solid judgment and integrity.
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate with ease at different levels of hierarchy.
Strong organizational and priority setting skills, being able to work on various projects at the same time.
Positive and proactive approach, including driving processes in a complex environment.
Team player; able to build to bridges and be principled at the same time.
Enthusiastic and self-motivated with eagerness to learn and expand responsibilities.
Strong attention to detail and excellent presentation skills.
Ability to adapt to out of hours work, interstate travel, international travel when required.
Nice to Haves
Industry experience (in medical devices or pharmaceuticals) highly desirable.
