LUMS is seeking applications for the role of Head of Communications for its Office of Advancement. This new role comes at a very exciting juncture when the University’s leadership is eager to reorganize and enhance its communications and branding strategy.

Reporting to the Director of University Advancement, the Head of Communications will spearhead the initiative to transform the communications and publications for the University.

This will involve establishing and driving a multi-channel communications strategy and branding guidelines while leading a team of communications and design professionals.

The person will set out a strategic and inclusive communications plan and deliver this with the buy-in of all key stakeholders, ensuring that a coherent message runs through all University communications, including the University website and social media platforms.

The person will also directly work with the leadership for writing and editing speeches. On a daily basis, the role will then deliver key communications activities, in collaboration with the University leadership. Main Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement communication strategies that enable the University to effectively and clearly communicate the message.
  • Create informative, structured and grasping publications and communication materials.
  • Plan and manage the design, content, and production of all communication materials.
  • Work towards generating new ideas and branding strategies.
  • Supervise projects to guarantee all content is publication-ready.
  • Respond to communication-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Enable a more efficient and open communication culture.
  • Write content including speeches for the University leadership.
  • Requirements :

  • Excellent writing skills.
  • A Master’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations or related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a leading communications and branding role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communications technologies.
  • In-depth understanding of copywriting, graphic design, layout, and publishing.
  • Proven experience of creating targeted content.
  • Strong knowledge of effective communication practices and techniques.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • An effective speech writer for the leadership.
  • Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
