About the team

The Business Finance Team is an essential core component of Careem that sets the path for the commercial aspect and hence the success of Careem as a business.

The team has been in existence for a good four years and is set to strive for long term growth. One of our best achievements is saving $100m+ during COVID in 2020.

The Business Finance Team strongly believes in working together to leverage on each individual's strengths to achieve profitability and efficiency.

This is a 6-month contractual role and reports into Senior Business Finance Manager.

What you'll do

  • Analyse Technology spends, processes and metrics to guide the all Tech teams and verticals to achieve our company break-even goals.
  • Setup initiatives across all Technology and R&D spends and build trackers and tools to monitor and control spends vs budget allocated for different teams and verticals.
  • Initiate cross functional topics with our parent company and various stakeholders and implement them successfully.
  • Support continuous improvement of current budgeting, forecasting and planning process and deliverables related to Technology.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly management reports
  • Flag with different stakeholders like Finance and FP&A functions on any anomalies in spends.
  • Regular spend reporting (daily, weekly and monthly cadence) to the different stakeholders like Finance, Markets and Growth functions.
  • Assist in the development of scorecards, measurement tools and KPI’s
  • Prepare / support ad hoc reports and analysis
  • Active participation in special projects
  • What you'll need

  • 6+ years of related experience in analyzing IT, R&D and Technology spends with Finance knowledge
  • Proficiency in Excel is required, knowledge of SQL is a plus
  • Proficiency in building excel models, spreadsheets, Tableau dashboards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial modeling
  • Results oriented, strong organizational and time management skills with ability to multitask.

  • You’ll be working in the location you’re hired from. Due to legal and compensation considerations, you will need to be based out of the country you’re hired from as your primary work location.
