The incumbent will be responsible for researching tax issues, report writing, interpretation of relevant laws and assisting superiors on the concerned matters, therefore must be proficient in drafting and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specifically, the incumbent holding this position will be responsible for assisting his / her superior / s in :
Advising clients in respect of Direct and Indirect Corporate Taxation Laws and other matters in the light of relevant statute, case laws, and industry practices.
Providing the clients with timely and accurate guidance on critical taxation issues.
Ensuring timely compliance of statutory deadlines for filings and / or payments by the clients.
Assistance in preparation and filing of Income Tax, Federal and Provincial Sales Tax / VAT returns and Monthly and Annual Tax Withholding statements on behalf of the clients.
Responding to notices and other communications received from taxation authorities in consultation with the clients.
Representing clients in meetings with tax and other relevant government officials, if need be.
Preparing relevant documents and arguments in respect of appeals to taxation authorities, if required.
0-1 year of relevant experience.
Preference would be given to : Bachelors in Economics, Accounting, or Finance, from a reputed university,
Other accepted qualifications : ACCA Affiliates, and LLB. Candidates possessing both the qualifications will be given an added advantage.
