Position Purpose & Summary :

Cargill is focusing to strengthen footprint in Pakistan and we need to have a strong accounting resource who can independently handle all accounting and reporting roles.

In addition, there was a strong need to create bench strength / alternate resource to support Accounting Manager.

This position will :

  • Perform standard accounting activities for Cargill Pakistan business.
  • Be accountable to certify that assigned accounts reflect accuracy and entirety of the business transactions, and that assigned balance sheet and P&L accounts are reconciled in compliance with Local and US GAAP, laws, regulations and corporate policies.
  • Responsible for completing statutory audit and other financial statutory compliances for Cargill Pakistan businesses working closely with other team member
  • Principal Accountabilities :

    1. Perform general accounting tasks and ensure that the financial reports are prepared accurately and reported timely, in accordance with US and Pakistan accounting standards as well as BU and Cargill internal policies.

    This include :

  • Maintain general ledger and perform month end closing activities.
  • Prepare US GAAP reporting, i.e. web schedules, Financial Consolidation, international tax schedules, etc.
  • Manage statutory audit and other statutory reporting requirements.
  • Manage internal audit requirements.
  • Any other month end closing tasks assigned
  • 2. Perform balance sheet reconciliation and financial statements analysis.

    This includes :

  • Prepare or review balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Prepare or review variance analysis for US GAAP and Control Review Package
  • 3. Monitor payments and compliance to payment control policies.

    4. Prepare accurate reports for tax and other statutory bodies and ensure compliance with the respective reporting requirements.

    5. Provide information related to audits (both internal and external)

    6. Perform record and information management activities

    7. Actively engage in on-going process of automating tasks and constantly look for areas of improvement

    8. Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned


    Minimum Required Qualifications :

  • Qualified accountant from recognized institute
  • 2 years post qualification experience of working in the big four audit firms
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to multitask and deliver results under tight deadlines
  • Good communication skills and team player
  • Strong skills in MS Excel
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Preferred Required Qualifications :

  • Good knowledge of US GAAP
  • Professional ACCA / CA / CPA qualifications
  • JDE knowledge
  • Other relevant information to the position :

  • Sound knowledge of Accounting Standards, Taxation and Local Laws
  • Ability to work with diversified team and managing things in tough operating environment / multitasking roles
  • Good communication skills and ability to converse comfortably in Urdu & English language
  • Operated in computerized environment and worked on accounting systems similar to JDE
