This position is based at the country office albeit requires internal coordination with regard to accounting data management and its consolidation.

Specially the accounting and monthly accounts and its computerization related to SIP project.The incumbent will be responsible for providing assistance in routine accounting matters of the country office ensuring smooth processing of all payments and maintenance and archiving of records in compliance with the standard policies and procedures

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :

To work under the supervision of Finance Officer, IUCN Pakistan, the incumbent will be responsible to provide support Country Office Finance Unit, as per below specific duties.

SPECIFIC DUTIES :

  • Assist and help Sea Intrusion Project (SIP) team in data entries and making project monthly establishment charge claim report and generating project EC's and other document support to the project;
  • Process data entry into ERP and maintain the accounting records in ERP system in accordance with IUCN policies and procedures;
  • Responsible for general book-keeping and accounting records at IUCNP country office finance;
  • Calculate / deduct taxes and its proper deposit as per the local requirements;
  • Submit monthly tax statements on FBR portal as per the requirement of the system;
  • Maintain proper filing system of all relevant accounting records;
  • Responsible for providing support during internal / external audits of the IUCN Pakistan and the projects at the Country Office and Quetta in close coordination with the Finance Officer, Country Office, IUCN Pakistan.
  • Prepare journal voucher and posting of all vouchers on regular basis;
  • Prepare and monitor liquidity statements for all bank accounts of IUCN Pakistan;
  • Handle bank payments including all bank transfers and prepare monthly reconciliations of all country office bank accounts and upload on ERP;
  • Handle petty cash and Sign off the petty cash statements on daily basis;
  • Provide assistance for the monthly, quarterly and annual closing of books;
  • Carry out monthly voucher verification.
  • Any other duties not specifically mentioned above and assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
  • Graduate / MBA-Finance with at least 2 to 3 years of professional experience in finance and accounting with international organization, preferably in development sector.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices and procedures.
  • Proficient in business software applications, especially ERP (MS Nav) and MS Office.
  • A well organised personality with good coordination, communication and inter-personnel skills. High credibility with ability to deliver under pressure, multi-
  • tasking and willingness to take challenging tasks.

  • Knowledge of projects and programmes implementation, and preparation of work plans, project budgets and progress reports in development sector will be an added advantage.
  • Well versed in written and spoken English / Urdu languages.
