One of our major client, a leading power generation and transmission company, is looking for General Manager to provide lead role in planning and presentation to performance heads.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for data presentation / preparations of reports’ with recommendations at Station Level which include :
  • Daily Generation Progress Report
  • Daily NEPRA report for Regulatory Affairs.
  • Daily Monitoring Report for Ministry of Water and Power.
  • Daily Operational Data Statement.
  • Monthly Training Tracker Technical, Management ,HSEQ)
  • Monthly Maintenance Tracker.
  • Monthly Reliability Incident Tracker
  • Monthly Generation Statement.
  • SSGC Billing Dispute Tracker for all stations
  • Supervise preparation of quarterly SOC meeting presentation. Provide lead role in presenting it to Generation Leaders & Safety / Performance Heads
  • Plan Maintenance Outages of all generating units giving due consideration to the Demand, L / S requirements
  • Supervise preparation of presentations for Board meeting & DCGO / CGO etc.
  • Responsible for answering all interdepartmental queries from Treasury, C&A, Marketing, Business Development etc.
  • Implementation of broad improvement initiatives & projects at generating stations like Reduction in Auxiliary Consumption &Enhancement in Thermal Efficiency of Generating Units.
  • Assist Director in implementation of Economic Dispatch of Generating Stations
  • Responsible for round the clock determination and proactive feed-back with LDC for :
  • Gas allocation decisions
  • Maintenance outage / deration approvals
  • Responsible for determining short-long term supply demand position
  • Supervise estimates of Furnace Oil Consumption, communicate the consumption forecasts to treasury and coordinate its ordering.
  • Prepare models for estimating furnace oil consumption for given scenarios of gas, unit availability & demand

  • Technical and Performance data Analysis of key plant operating & performance factors eg.average load, units sent out, fuel consumption, Plant Capacity factor, Output factor, Availability factor, Reliability factor, Forced Outage Factors and efficiency for overall improvement of Generating unit performance.
  • Monitor available capacities with a view to determine reasons for reduction in capacity and thermal efficiency and increase of parasitic load.

  • Supervise all routine and on demand Heat Rate tests at all stations.
  • To conduct regular Audits at Generating Stations for determining compliance of regulatory requirements of reporting
  • Provide Technical Input in RCA conducted at individual generating stations
  • Responsible for Level 1 to 3 KPI implementation, reporting & comparison against Bench Mark indices. Prepare presentations of Level 1 to 3 KPIs of all generating units for CEO.
  • Keep track of objectives and achievements of all generating stations.
  • Prepare draft replies against queries and explanations sought by external agencies like NEPRA, GOP, GOS & MOWP, ADB and IFC etc.
  • Develop generating stations Core assumptions
  • Taking lead role in coordinating CAPEX & REVEX Budgeting of all generating stations
  • Responsible for Generation’s liaison internally with all departments including Marketing, C&A, FBA, Projects, Strategic Planning , Treasury etc.
  • Conduct interviews for staffing of Trainee Engineers Selection & Placement for all Generation & Transmission Department
  • Develop Critical analysis and research of deviations’ in operational parameters & determination of their impact on performance & generation cost
  • Supervise data acquisition, processing, analysis, reconciliation & monitoring concerning Turbo-Machinery Vibrations, Boiler Chemistry, Boiler Flue Gas, Plant Operating Parameters, Energy Meters & Unit Outages
  • Advice technical Analysis & Advice in critical management decision making related to suggestions of Alternative Fuels, Modifications, Rehabilitations and Power Augmentation of existing units
  • Any other task assigned by the management.

    Qualification / Experience :

  • B.E. (any discipline)
  • 8-10 years work experience
