The opportunity

EY is looking for a Manager, Solution Architect’ to join our rapidly expanding Technology Consulting team. The role will be based in Karachi and will serve MENA clients both remotely and onsite across different MENA locations and mainly GCC countries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design of Digital / IT enterprise solution architecture and transformation / delivery roadmaps
  • Development of Digital / IT enterprise architecture strategy to support corporate and Digital / IT strategy, covering information / data, application, technology / infrastructure and business architecture
  • Ability to translate and map organizational strategy to tangible information / technology prerogatives
  • Ability to liaise with client IT and Business teams to understand business drivers, requirements, solutions strategies and alternatives being considered and / or implemented
  • Development of Digital / IT enterprise architecture capability strategy to support the strategic requirements of the business
  • Develop industry leading Digital / IT agile enterprise solution architecture principles, reference models, policies, standards and leading practices for client technology organizations
  • Continuously research, identify and assess new and emerging Digital / IT enterprise-wide solutions, services, methods, technologies and evaluate potential suitability / relevance for clients
  • Ability to understand / articulate interdependencies and alignment of specific initiatives to client’s overall technology landscape (across technical and functional terms)
  • Definition and implementation of the processes for the definition, maintenance, and conformance management of the Enterprise Architecture
  • Ability to define and establish architecture governance mechanisms and controls for clients by clearly articulating architecture decision checkpoints
  • Client responsibilities :

  • Maintain open and proactive communication and build credibility based on understanding client issues and offering innovative solutions on IT-OT convergence areas
  • Create and deliver presentations that engage a range of audiences and respond to their questions and concerns
  • Integrate data and applies judgment in forming practical insights and addressing potential issues, leveraging opportunities and analyses that enable decision-making by critical stakeholders
  • Share technical, sector and market knowledge to inform client thinking
  • Develop and manage plans for project teams, updates stakeholders, and escalates scope
  • Develop relationships that can benefit our firm and our clients (, with stakeholders in target organizations) and beyond the workplace to enhance our presence and impact in the community
  • Identify and share trends, topics and resources (, professional bodies, market developments such as sector specific trends, regulatory guidance) that will increase the relevance and value of our service delivery and seizes opportunities to grow knowledge in the IT-OT convergence areas
  • Take a systematic approach to making decisions, considering all relevant date
  • Deliver an exceptional service experience across engagements, develop an account management mindset, understand our clients’ sectors and business agenda, and anticipate their needs, proposing preferred solutions, anticipating potential barriers and following up on client satisfaction
  • Develop ideas to expand current offerings, including other service lines, and initiates client discussions
  • Build networks across our firm, start creating an external network to support our markets agenda and reputation, and encourage cross-selling
  • Enable the business development process by gathering appropriate resources, gaining access to key contacts, supervising proposal writing and driving progress to completion
  • Improve coordination of work-in-progress and utilization of staff within and across teams and exercise leadership in a collaborative way
  • Manage team and project resources and budgets effectively

  • Technical skills requirements

  • 5+ years of experience specializing in technology architecture, solution architecture and standards
  • Deep knowledge of reference Digital / IT enterprise architecture and solutions in 1 or 2 specific sectors ( Real Estate, Oil & Gas, Financial Services, Retail, Aviation, etc.)
  • Knowledge of leading Enterprise Architecture tools; hands-on experience desired
  • Sound knowledge of cloud solutions / products and their deployment models
  • Knowledge of industry leading Digital / IT enterprise architecture policies, standards and processes
  • Experience in agile development methodologies like SCRUM
  • Experience working on CMMI / Agile / SAFE methodologies
  • Excellent Project management experience (project scheduling, resource management, budgeting, reporting, etc.)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; writing, publishing and conference-level presentation skills a plus
  • Completed technical higher education in the field of computer engineering, computer science, electronics, information technology, and relevant industry Certification (TOGAF, AWS, Google Cloud, etc.)
