The prime role of the Project Manager-Food Security and Value Chains is to provide support (technical and managerial) to ensure smooth and effective delivery of the project.
The project aims to have improved livelihoods for women and men small-scale rice producers through more responsible and inclusive value chains, and private sector investments, where women can demonstrate economic leadership
The Project Manager will work under the supervision of Program Manager Governance and fragility in Oxfam Pakistan. She / he will support the Programme Manager in managing and implementing the project, ensuring the programme quality and donor compliance.
She / he is expected to provide high quality support to Oxfam program team and to the partners organizations in implementing and monitoring of the project, while enhancing programmatic synergies and coherence between the different initiatives under Oxfam’s governance programme.
What Skills Are We Looking For
The job holder will manage and lead the assigned project(s) in Pakistan. Project Manager (PM) will ensure that assigned project(s) meets the high standards of quality, donor compliance, system compliance, set targets / milestones with optimal engagement of beneficiaries at all levels.
The position-holder will mainly focus on overseeing the implementation of a value chain improvement project in Pakistan.
The position-holder will be responsible for coordinating, managing, planning and supervising assigned project(s). Besides project management, PM will also provide technical support and ensure that best practices and a harmonized approach is being applied to food security, climate change and value chain.
The PM is expected to have good comprehension of value chain governance and working with private sector players with the ability to design and oversee the subproject activities and deliver desired outputs.
The PM will also be required to contribute in technical backstopping, capacity building and knowledge sharing activities (dissemination of knowledge products) across other programmes and teams of Oxfam in Pakistan.
Ability to travel in Pakistan for approximately 50% of the time, and also undertake international travel when required
