HME is currently recruiting for a Buyer Planner II . In this position, you will be responsible for materials and sourcing the supplies to procure production components at prices consistent with quality and quantity requirements.
What you will do in the position :
Plan, place and modify purchase orders for off-the-shelf and build-to-print commodities.
Plan purchase orders based on various reports, using judgment and knowledge of materials and product to modify quantity and timing of order as appropriate to obtain best price.
Contact suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery, terms, and conditions based on company requirements and specifications.
Process purchase orders and change orders to suppliers verbally and / or in writing, following up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of orders.
Maintain adequate records of purchase orders and all related documentation.
Act as liaison between suppliers and supplier quality department to address and resolve quality issues, including return to vendor items.
Modify, renegotiate, and reschedule existing orders based on current needs.
Address and resolve invoicing discrepancies with suppliers.
Receive MRP from production control to initiate and reschedule orders.
Work with accounts payable to resolve invoicing issues.
Interface with engineering for design sampling and technical information.
Interface with document control for latest written specifications.
May act as project coordinator on design projects as appropriate.
Back up other Buyer / Planners as needed.
What you will need to succeed in this position :
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills including using word processing and spreadsheet software.
Basic understanding of blueprints.
3+ years experience purchasing / sourcing electronic components, cable assembly and custom fabrication.
Work experience with manufacturing / electronics industry.
4 years of purchasing experience
BA or Bs (college graduate) - preferred
