Manager Resource Planning and UtilizationOverviewThis role reports directly to the Service Line Leader with matrix reporting to Country Talent Leader.
The focus is to successful management of Service Line operational activities, resource management & deployment and control of sales & delivery costs to achieve business goals whilst balancing client requirements, individual career aspirations and utilization targets.
Similarly, a good understanding of business commercials will help ensure success in the role owing to the need to negotiate and influence senior stakeholders in the business.
Responsibilities Proactive liaison with Service Line Leaders and SL partners, directors and managers to understand client requirements and the wider needs of the business, to facilitate effective resourcing decisions In conjunction with Country Talent Leader and Service Line Leader(s), assess and plan.
future resource requirements based on projected workflows, impact of pipeline, and levels of attrition, ensuring headcount and utilisation levels are in line with budget.
Identify cost effective resourcing solutions taking into consideration the needs of the client, individual skills, and the wider needs of the business.
Deal with issues and make decisions on conflicting demands, liaising with Service Line Leader & relevant stakeholders, as required.
Monitor utilisation figures by individual, grade, office and sectors. Highlight potential shortfalls / over-utilisation to relevant partners / managers and facilitate actions to decrease unassigned time and initiate staffing changes, as necessary, to spread the workload, as evenly as possible.
Provide analysis and commentary on backlog, projected pipeline, utilisation and forward bookings, non-chargeable activities and availability levels and weekly plan vs actual time variances.
Facilitate implementation of follow-up actions, when required. Proactive management of staff booking planners to ensure it is kept up to date and accurate, at all times.
Acquire knowledge of individual skills, experiences and personal / professional aspirations and apply this knowledge in resourcing decisions.
Attend annual round tables as an active participant, ensuring that development needs are then taken into consideration in resourcing decisions.
Attend regular resourcing meetings with counterparts and other SL representatives Perform regular monitoring and control over opening, amendments, closing of for chargeable and non-
chargeable work. Follow-up with engagement partners and managers to minimise erosion of sold revenue and profitability. Monitor potential new business development activities against pipeline and wins.
Highlight issues to relevant executives and Advisory Leadership. Work with SL, domain and sector leads to identify any potential hire and coordinate with the HR Recruitment for inclusion in standard recruitment process.
Verify details of all staff and successful hires from HR Support in the resourcing database and systems. Contribute to HR & L&D by providing required information on skill set and progress of staff for performance assessment and learning needs.
Communicate and share potential training needs with relevant teams. Liaise with Country Talent Leader to prioritise and complete tasks relating to business as usual, as appropriate.
Experience, Qualification and Personal qualities A bachelor’s degree (project management, business management, or equivalent) Position requires a high level of complex, conceptual problem-
