Responsible for accurate and timely billing and rebilling of electronic and hardcopy clinical claims in CMS 1500 format to the Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) and other payors.
Monitor data validation prior to billing using various monitoring reports, identify and correct errors and recalculate charges.
Research denied and pending claims, correcting errors and rebilling claims.

Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements
Must possess a high school or equivalency diploma; college-level courses a plus; associate degree preferred.
Must have experience with automated billing systems.
Previous medical billing and coding experience required, including experience with electronic claims submissions, third party liability research, coordination of benefits and a variety of contractual reimbursement methods.
Must maintain a valid Arizona state fingerprint clearance card.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Knowledge, Ability, and Skills
Must possess excellent customer service skills
Requires strong writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge of health care billing and coding practices including CPT-4, HPCPS, ICD-10 and state AHCCCS codes using CMS 1500 format requirements.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to utilize multiple types of office equipment (i.e. phones, copier, fax, etc.)
Ability to type 25 to 50 WPM is preferred
Must be competent in Microsoft Office software
