This position is based in FAO programme Office, based in Quetta. The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural , fisheries and forestry sectors and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.
Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative, close coordination of AFAOR (Programme) and direct supervision of the Programme Officer-Resilience
Smooth project implementation in alignment with drought response plan
Enhanced cluster delivery in emergency and early recovery response;
Increased sense of ownership of WG by members;
Tasks and responsibilities
Support Programme Manager Resilience for Food Security WG at the provincial level in the provision of humanitarian response to the affected population;
Represent in the WG at all provincial-level general and specific coordination meetings;
Facilitate team development and monitoring of field response, ensuring that any identified gaps are filled;
Ensure that strong linkages exist between District level authorities FAO for humanitarian actions;
Facilitate timely and accurate project reporting and implementation at the provincial level and ensure dissemination to all stakeholders as appropriate;
Carry out other duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING Minimum Requirements
Advance University degree in Agriculture, social sciences or related field.
Minimum 08 years of relevant experience.
Experience in the design and implementation of emergency response and early recovery activities in the agricultural / food security sectors.
Experience in the implementation of agriculture-related Emergency & Rehabilitation Projects will be considered an asset.
Good communication, writing and presentation skills (English as well as local language)

Ability to work in insecure environment;
Proven ability to liaise with and coordinate multiple partners including NGOs.
Diplomacy, tact and ability to network successfully.
Good understanding of international humanitarian and early recovery architecture and respective roles of participating members
Working Knowledge of UN cluster system will be considered an asset;
Ability to work within a team of professional staff from diverse technical and cultural back ground and expertise;
Knowledge of United Nations and International Organizations’ administrative policies and procedures.
Good knowledge of common administrative and financial rules and regulations
Good knowledge of communication and documentation standards
Strong research skills, ability to conduct benchmarking analysis in support of vendor identification, selection and performance management.
Display initiative and take responsibility for achieving agreed outputs within set deadlines and closely follow-up until successful outputs are achieved.
Continue to seek new, innovative and improved methods and systems for accomplishing the work assigned.
Identify and recommend remedial measures to address problems in systems design or implementation
