ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

The Search Copy Writer will be a core part of the BAT GBS Digital Team, responsible for writing clear and concise copy for search ads, scripts, and long-form content for our web pages, emails, social media posts, infographics, landing pages, etc.

We’re looking for a team-spirited individual who is a skilled writer, able to work with multiple stakeholders, including translators to update and refresh content based on the market’s requirements.

This position will be reporting to the Search Manager in Pakistan.

The Search Copy Writer is expected to have exceptional written English, a deep understanding of SEO writing strategies, and the ability to adapt their style and tone to the target audience for it to be compelling.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Brand : Develop monthly and quarterly editorial calendars and write dynamic and engaging content related to the brands of the end markets, how to’s, offers, and other relevant topics, for various marketing channels including SEO, Brand, CRM and Affiliate Marketing.
  • Evergreen : Conceptualize, research and write long form, evergreen content pieces to help drive organic search traffic.
  • Craft engaging and conversion focused copy for CRM campaigns including emails, push and SMS messages, targeted at both current consumers, as well as our prospects.
  • Collaborate with brand marketing and digital teams in GBS or global teams to identify gaps and needs for editorial content.
  • Write clear, persuasive, original copy within our defined brand tone of voice. While simultaneously helping us stretch that tone of voice in new directions.
  • Work in a close-knit creative partnership with the end market brand team and GBS team to generate and bring to life excellent concepts and ideas.
  • Formulate presentation decks for internal and external review, and present - both for internal creative and cross-functional project reviews.
  • Execute on campaigns from concept stage to completion, across all channels.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, including ground-breaking ideas, emerging technologies and business solutions.
  • ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree (Degree within a writing-based discipline an asset (journalism, advertising, creative writing, etc.
  • Five or more years of content writing experience either at an agency or in-house.
  • A link to your portfolio with samples of your work.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter who is capable of working as both a producer and an editor.
  • Copy editing experience.
  • Understands user experience and usability, accessibility, writing for the web, and meeting user needs with content.
  • 2 + years experience in concepting for web, mobile, social and emerging platforms a must
  • Must have a folio of work demonstrating ideas and copy across various media
