in-class procurement capabilities and tools across feeder portfolio (FEF / FEO).

The position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a complex network of stakeholders, including Operations execution, commercial teams and procurement support teams thus operating in an entrepreneurial environment, with the empowerment to make decisions that benefit the overall Network and cost & service delivery targets.

You will also be practicing indirect leadership on a daily basis with sourcing support teams, that will be working as dedicated resources towards tenders and projects.

You will also be a part of a larger feeder network team, where you will own the Feeder Contracts and bring in procurement insights and cost impact to the overall goals for the feeder category in West and Central Asia.

Simultaneously, you will continue to gain and hone strong negotiation skills, through periodic negotiations, tender exercises and contingency management with the vendor universe.

Key responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the Feeder Procurement Category consisting of an annual spend of USD 185 million
  • Develop overall category strategy from both geographical and supplier segmentation aspects
  • Responsible for preparation of annual procurement plan for feeder category
  • Develop negotiation plans, strategies and execute sourcing projects across feedering category within the region
  • Negotiate and actively manage all contract deliverables in conjunction with the objectives of key stakeholders
  • Driving negotiations for feeder contracts encompassing not only commercial, but also performance standards & parameters : KPI, SLA, SOP, scorecards in collaboration with feeder execution teams
  • Act as a point of escalation relating to dispute and issue resolution
  • Lead design and selection of appropriate tools and frameworks for category management
  • Provide financial and commercial analysis and reporting requirements against the projects as required
  • Manage day-to-day contractual risks across a myriad of contract engagement models
  • Management of rate repository
  • Managing e-Procurement and implementing digital solutions to modernise the procurement function
  • Management of feedering contracts post sourcing in order to maximize contractual value and mitigate risks
  • Develop and execute defined supplier relationship management (SRM) and Performance Management strategies for Feeder category
  • Collaborate within the WCA Network cross functional team to ensure meeting FEO savings targets & optimal feeder setup
  • Oversee and monitor contractual compliance by both parties (Maersk Line and suppliers)
  • Oversee and monitor cost development versus contract spend expectation
  • Ensure the Maersk Line Six Sourcing steps are followed in all sourcing projects
  • Manage and review contract performance regularly and ensure targets are on track
  • Facilitate root cause analysis for non-performing contracts
  • Drive savings through sourcing initiatives, optimizing operational behaviours and opportunity assessment
  • Drive continuous improvement
  • Contribute to development of procurement frameworks and processes
  • Create overall awareness about contracts and ensure internal stakeholders understand relevant contractual terms and conditions
  • Ensure relevant systems are timely and completely maintained
  • Deliver procurement benefits (realised savings, service level improvements, etc.) and make sure these are realised through measurement and follow-up
  • We are looking for

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in operations, procurement or terminal operations management or related supply chain management positions
  • Experience in operations and procurement is an advantage when applying and combined with awareness of cost drivers will be highly valued in the selection process
  • The person should have in-depth knowledge and experience within procurement and be used to handle most situations independently, receives minimal guidance, but will seek guidance on more complex issues
