IT Security Administrator / Analyst

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Security Administration

  • Helps maintain documentation including security policy, standards, security monitoring system configuration, standard operating procedures (SOP) and other related information.
  • Monitors security systems and other data feeds to ensure security of our systems and data, looking for signs of anomaly or breech.
  • Drives resolution of security concerns (example : PC’s missing anti-virus endpoint protection, machines needing patches, PCI compliance issues needing resolved)
  • Support the development, implementation and monitoring of controls to ensure that assets are properly protected, meet policy compliance and best practice recommendations.
  • Assist in development of new security policies and procedures.
  • Assist with administration of security platforms (example : firewalls, proxies, active directory, vulnerability scanner, intrusion detection system, endpoint protection, content filters, MFA) anti-virus console
  • Maintain current documentation of security equipment.
  • Assists in coordinating special projects including network and desktop related efforts.
  • Security Support

  • Oversees the day-to-day operation of security specific tools and monitoring systems.
  • Analyzes, troubleshoots and remediates security related issues.
  • Assists in providing network security hardware / software support.
  • Researches, evaluates and recommends network hardware / software purchases.
  • Researches, evaluates and recommends new technologies related to computer security.
  • Audit IT environments per security audit schedule
  • Providing security related advice and guidance including awareness training to staff.
  • Staying up to date with the latest vulnerabilities, risks and threats.
  • Keeps current and continuous learning via vendor and trade opportunities.
  • EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
  • Any combination of education and training equivalent to possession of a bachelor's degree in computer science, information engineering or other related areas;
  • such education should be at a level that demonstrates the ability to perform duties comparable to those listed herein. Knowledge and experience with security tools and solutions, Active Directory and networking technologies.

    The ability to troubleshoot problems and analyze data with great attention to detail is required.
