One of our major client, a leading power generation and transmission company, is looking for GM for Operation to develop standardized procedures for plant start-up and shutdown in accordance with the guidelines laid down in the O&M manuals and other such documents supplied by the plant manufacturers.

Job Responsibilities :

  • To develop standardized procedures for start-ups and shutdowns of all individual equipment, auxiliary plant equipment etc.
  • To organize all the activities pertaining to plant operation, including following activities :
  • Man power management as per approved organogram.
  • Management of shift schedule / cycle.
  • To identify requirement of operation staff.
  • Man power training.
  • To implement management’s instructions from time to time.
  • Overall management of the shift.
  • To prepare and issue periodic operating reports, generation statistics and special incident report.
  • To ensure the restoration of station supply, in case of partial or total breakdown in minimum possible time.
  • To immediately inform the Plant Head in case of any mishap or breakdown.
  • To ensure proper coordination of operation department with maintenance departments regarding planed / forced maintenance of the plant.
  • To review log sheets with the aim to find out any irregularities in the operation of the equipment.
  • To enforce discipline among the staff members.
  • To undertake any other task assigned by Plant Head / Higher Management.
  • To coordinate with LDC Control for any planned / forced shutdown and instructions regarding gas quota and other matters related to plant operation.
  • To ensure the implementation of HSE policy of the company.
  • To prepare and to ensure the implementation of environmental aspect and impact during operation of plant and take necessary control to minimize the potential hazards.
  • To ensuring the NEQS compliance of emissions from exhaust stake of Gas Generators are within range.
  • To organize HSE meeting / program(s) of operation department as per management’s instruction.
  • Administering the department in accordance with delegated authority and taking decision according to the Company’s policy.
  • To requisition raw water for plant operation, data logging stationeries etc. and to maintain adequate stock.
  • Nationality : Pakistan National

    Qualification / Experience :

  • B.E Mechanical / Electrical
  • 10 years relevant experience
  • Must have knowledge of performing the Risk Assessment of their respective jobs
  • Must have knowledge / awareness regarding the HSEQ audits techniques.
  • Having knowledge of identify and maintain the OH&S legal requirements.
  • Must have knowledge of incident / accident investigation report writing.
  • Preference will be given to person having knowledge of OHSAS 18001 : 2007 standards.
  • Having an awareness of Permit to Work (PTW) and Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) system.
  • Must have knowledge of basic Environmental Management System (EMS) standards.
  • Must have knowledge of basic Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
  • To perform the environmental aspect / impact assessment.
  • Good knowledge of legal requirements according to EPA.
