JOB PURPOSE

To achieve success it is critical that the Head of Portfolio Management : Develop and implement initiatives to focus resources on Optimizing and maximizing Portfolio effectiveness, within the framework of SANOFI local and regional business strategy, Also participate with the team for all mid & long term business strategy development.

  • Develop Strategic initiative
  • Aware of contemporary business trends and dynamics
  • High level of Commitment for the success of affiliate strategic direction and key initiatives
  • KEY RESULTS / ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Key Regional Interface for Evaluation of all BD Opportunities
  • Lead all Local Business Development Projects
  • Develop Work stream based on appropriate expertise within the organization for different projects when necessary
  • Align and associate closely with :
  • Strategic Brand Plan Process led by Marketing

    Strategic Portfolio Reviews which is part of the overall strategic Planning process.

  • Identification of new Opportunities and screening
  • Screening and Valuing for Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Develop Business Cases for In-licensing
  • Structure out-licensing / Out-sourcing deals
  • Pipeline gaps that need to be filled in the core and Strategic Therapeutic areas through Rx in-licensing and co-marketing / co-promotion
  • High Priority Life Cycle Management opportunities and development of line extensions; new formulations and combinations
  • Opportunities to enhance growth in Base Business / Tail products through Out-licensing / Out-sourcing deals
  • Development of OTC and generics Portfolio through acquisition of brands and / or companies.
  • Commercialization of the acquired portfolio in the local Market
  • Entry opportunities into new segments and channels of the Market through Partnerships and / or Mergers and acquisitions
  • People Leadership

  • Performance manages the team through setting and reviewing priorities. Provides appropriate and timely feedback about performance and coaches team members to help them achieve their goals
  • Supports the professional and career development of the team by identifying the skills and competencies that employees need for their current and prospective roles and provide opportunities to learn and practice new skills
  • Leads the building of a motivated and engaged team through the use of formal and informal recognition, regular communications and the encouragement of cooperation between individuals and teams

  • SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Education Level : Post Graduate Degree (Preferably in Business Administration)
  • Experience : About 10-12 Years in a leading Pharmaceutical Company, with strong direct experience in Business Development, Project Management, Sales &Marketing management, Proven management experience and success in a commercial position, god knowledge of pharmaceutical market, therapeutic areas, logistical, financial and people management.
  • Skills : Project management skills, Strong collaborative skills, Developed communication & interpersonal skills, Strong Negotiation Skills, Good leadership skills having problem solving & conflict resolution, ability to develop relationship and liaise with Government and other officials,
