The Head of Internal Audit Officer plays a crucial role by providing an independent, objective assessment of the company’s operations and helps accomplish company objectives through a systematic, disciplined approach to risk management, control and governance processes.
To achieve success it is critical that the Head of Internal Audit :
Provide Board’s Audit Committee and other stakeholders with risk based, objective and reasonable assurance, advisory services and insights on controls, risk management and governance matters supported by available resources.
KEY RESULTS / ACCOUNTABILITIES
Formulate and implement affiliate’s Internal Audit's strategic long term goals, policies and procedures.
Identify audit universe for routine and Special Audit in order to develop the Annual Audit Plan to ensure effective and comprehensive audit review of the compliance and adequacy of internal controls.
Develop the Internal Audit plans for systematic coverage of all high risk areas and efficient conduct of all Audit Assignments.
Prepare and submit Audit Reports for each assignment after discussion with the management to ensure that relevant material and key observations are included and areas of audit concern are highlighted, with appropriate suggestions and recommendations for improvement and rectification.
Review the internal systems, procedures, processes and controls to detect areas of operational deficiency, and make appropriate recommendations for improving operational efficiency and enhancing internal controls.
Review the risk of all business unit transactions in order to provide an assessment of the potential risk involved.
Carry out special audit assignments as directed by the Audit Committee or Country Chair or as identified on the basis of high risk, in any area needing special investigation of suspected fraud, loss of company property or any other suspected transgression of company policies.

Abide by the requirements of the internal Code of Ethics including but not restricted to maintaining high professional standards of conduct in line with the Company procedure with a duty of care to the reputation of the Company
Takes personal accountability to use personal experience and knowledge, as well as the training and tools provided by Sanofi, to maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all ethics and governance relevant to the role (Sanofi Policies and Procedures and any relevant legal requirements) and demonstrate personal leadership in applying these to all work undertaken.
Escalates any decisions, or seek the support of colleagues or management if personal knowledge and understanding is not at the level required to carry out any part of the role

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACMA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
Post qualification five years managerial experience in a listed company
Risk and control awareness
Diagnostic and analytical skills
Strong facilitation and interviewing skills
Good communication & presentation skills
High degree of integrity
Independent & self-driven
