WebSphere Commerce Administrator (Karachi)

As a WebSphere Administrator, you will be a Senior Team Member and be part of a team dedicated to supporting, creating and managing 360training’s eCommerce DEV / QA / UAT and Production environments in high-

volume transaction environment. This role will be responsible for delivering managed services to support and maintain 360training’s eCommerce solutions and related components, as well as identifying new tools and processes to better support eCommerce sites.

Responsibilities :

  • Primarily support eCommerce Environments including managing, troubleshooting and resolving the issues related to DEV,QA,UAT,Production and any eCommerce solutions required by 360training.
  • Perform root cause analysis, diagnose and correlate all necessary information to determine the appropriate course of action, and escalate unresolved issues as appropriate.

  • Schedule, test and deploy regular fixes, patches and upgrades of WebSphere Commerce components and WebSphere based solutions to multiple environments.
  • Configure and update SSL certificates for WebSphere servers as required.

  • Work across teams to ensure the highest level platform performance, availability and disaster recovery.
  • Identify opportunities for tuning enhancements to components such as, but not limited to, OS and JVM parameters and configurations, garbage collection, caching, queuing, connection pools, plug-ins and JDBC drivers.
  • Monitor Application Server performance and work with application development teams to identify and deploy solutions for performance problems.
  • Hands on installation and configuration of WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Commerce Server in a clustered environment
  • Identify areas for automation using tools or scripting languages, such python / Jython, Bash wsadmin scripting / administration.
  • Interface with IBM and other software vendors to clearly articulate problems and obtain solutions.
  • Interface with hosting provider teams to debug problems, articulate and follow up on service requests, and escalate / track critical issues.
  • Performance load / stress testing and performance tuning of all tiers including : IBM HTTP server, IBM WAS application server, IBM WebSphere Commerce, IBM WebSphere Commerce Search and the IBM Db2 database.
  • Evaluate and report on new tools and techniques for monitoring and securing an e-Commerce site
  • Documentation Prepare and maintain thorough documentation of technologies, standards and procedures.
  • On call 24 hours a day 7 days a week on for production issues.
  • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Education level of a University Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with minimum of seven (7) years hands-on Systems and Network Administration or related experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) and ability to work effectively with various levels of staff and management

  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills who can communicate with all levels of employees
  • Strong project methodology and the ability to work closely with project teams
  • In-depth knowledge and proven experience of technical problem analysis, determination, and resolutions skills in similar capacity and technology profile;

  • Within your experience, you have administered, installed, and configured the topology of large complex multi-level Unix and Windows based infrastructure systems
  • Subject Matter Expert in IBM WebSphere Commerce and WebSphere Application Server
  • Installation and configuration of WebSphere Commerce in clustered environment
  • Build and Deployment of WebSphere Commerce Applications
  • Performance Tuning of the WebSphere Commerce and WebSphere Commerce Search tiers
  • Caching methods and configuration
  • Virtual host creation and configuration
  • Experience monitoring WAS JVM usage and collecting log / heap information after server outages
  • Experience with WAS admin script creation / execution
  • Experience with SSL certificate maintenance
  • IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment
  • Advanced knowledge of DB2 primarily focused on :
  • Backup / restore strategies
  • Runstats / reorg maintenance
  • Performance tuning
  • Advanced knowledge of IBM HTTP Server
  • Advanced knowledge of Unix
  • Experience with Cron jobs, Shell scripts, FTP / SFTP, etc
  • Knowledge of Unix scripting (Perl, Python, Bash Shell)
  • Advanced knowledge of Virtualization on multiple operating systems (Linux, Windows, AIX). VMware preferred.
  • Web Services (XML / XSLT, SOA, SOAP, WSDL, UDDI, WS-Security)
  • J2EE (JMS, JDBC, EJBs, JSP / Servlets, JCA, JDO)
  • High Availability (Clustering, Failover)
  • Load Balancers, Networks and DMZs
  • Experience in the following areas would be an asset :

  • Azure or AWS
  • Linux server administration certification
  • IBM WebSphere Commerce installation, configuration, and tuning
  • Enterprise Service Buses (ESB), their architecture, interrelationships and configuration
  • DB2 DBA Administration
  • Experience with PCI audit processes and the PCI-DSS
  • Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence
