Role Summary :
The Performance Engineer is responsible for the overall coordination required to operate all site equipment and systems and will report to Operations Manager on all matters in this regard.
The Performance Engineer will coordinate with the Operations Manager & Maintenance Manager to support operations and maintenance activities.
Essential Responsibilities :
Supports Operation Manager in control of all operations documents as outlined on the site Master List of Controlled Documents.
Provides the overall coordination and guidance required to operate all site equipment and systems in most reliable & efficient manner.
Conduct performance testing of complete plant as per O&M agreement and share the results with Management
Keep track of all major equipment’s performance (including but not limited to GT’s, ST, HRSG, Feed Pumps, Vacuum Pumps, Condenser, Cooling tower etc) during the year and identify any corrective actions arising thereof.
Work with both Operation & Maintenance teams to identify areas of Plant Performance improvement
Keep track of Plant KPI’s & Station Targets
Supports efficient use of operating budgets and maintains operational records
Assists in the development and recording of operations and maintenance data.
Monitors sampling programs to ensure that the chemistry specifications for site equipment and systems remains in specification for the required operating, shutdown, or lay-up condition.
Participate in the plant daily morning meeting giving input regarding plant operational needs.
Ensures that a record of all correspondence with Gas Seller and Power Purchaser as required under 0 & M agreement, PPA and GSA is maintained.
Complies with all EHS policies & Quality Assurance procedures as developed and implemented at site in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Understands OH&S risks / hazards and environmental / legislative aspects / impacts to related to work activities.
To take full responsibility for health, safety and environment by following all EHS requirements.
To be responsible for housekeeping of his assigned plant area and participate in Zonal monthly housekeeping inspections to identify situations, conditions, aspects that may pose risk to employee, equipment or / & environment.
To carry out and complete all EHS related Tasks and trainings with in the assigned target date, these tasks can be assigned via Compliance Calendar, MAXIMO.
Action Tracking system, Concern report, & Power Inspection tool
Conduct safety talks, tool box talks, safety dialogues etc and log the activity in safety dialogue tool as authorized.
Participation in at least 03 EHS activities in a year. These activities could be Hazard Hunt, Risk reduction Project, EHS committee member housekeeping walk down etc.
Conduct / review EHS Risk assessments of routine and non-routine work activities and implement controls as needed / assigned.
Ensure his visitors / contractors induction process is followed as per site induction procedure.
Prioritize EHS critical service requests.
To recommend the plant modifications and betterment for safe, efficient and reliable operation.
Prepare an Incident / Outage Report in accordance with the guidelines provided for such report.
Qualifications / Requirements :
Graduate engineer with a minimum of 5 years working experience in similar capacity in power plant / petrochemical industries or equivalent combination of education and experience
Desired Characteristics :
Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to work independently.
Strong problem solving skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to employees of the organization. Be familiar with relevant performance testing protocols (e.g. PTC-46)
