The British Council is recruiting for a Communications Manager to manage internal and external communications for the global / regional Procurement team, including the creation and management of the internal communications and engagement strategy.

Currently we are transforming the way we carry out Procurement across the British Council. A Centre Led structure using a thin layer of Global management with regional operational centers is being established.

The Procurement team therefore requires a dedicated resource to manage it’s BAU communications and communication during the transformative phase.

Your key responsibilities will include :

  • Implementing and manage internal communications deliverables around Procurement transformation and specific initiatives.
  • Developing and managing internal communications and engagement strategy.
  • Managing and updating internal digital communications resources
  • Formulating and disseminating all relevant Procurement communications across the British Council Network
  • Managing internal and external communications ensuring all communications are in line with British Council communications standards and guidelines.
  • Managing and reporting on variances in the Procurement budget.
  • Managing updates of the Procurement policy and procedures and other relevant documents
  • Liaison with various communications teams to ensure essential Procurement communications are included on all available platforms.
  • Direct supervision and line management of the Procurement Executive officer
  • Support and deputise for the Director of procurement any communications as and when needed.
  • We are therefore looking for a talented individual with prior experience of managing communications for a project, programme or department.

    Experience in or an understanding of the Procurement function would be an added advantage.
